Jerry Coyne (“Science and religion aren’t friends,” Oct. 11) claims scientists don’t use faith, “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Yet every day scientists accept things they can’t observe directly.
When we see a list of equations, we understand that a mathematician has written them – even when we don’t see him on the premises. Astronomer Edwin Hubble’s successor Dr. Allan Sandage pondered, “Why is the universe describable in differential equations?” He reasoned that a being who understood calculus had engineered and built it.
Precise “fine-tuning” manifests itself throughout the scientific alphabet, from astronomy to zoology. The one universe that we can observe has so many parameters so “just right” that many scientists call it the “Goldilocks universe.” Attempting to explain how it got that precisely balanced, some speculate that billions of invisible would-be universes tried to create themselves but failed before one “got lucky.” That “multiverse” hypothesis is a “substance” of “things not seen” – “hoped for” to avoid the alternative explanation. Couldn’t the one universe we see be “just right,” because a genius-level Creator got it right the first time?
Max Born, a Nobel laureate in Physics for his work on quantum mechanics, once commented, “Those who say that the study of science makes a man an atheist, must be rather silly people.” By that standard, the statement “Science and religion aren’t friends” belongs on the comic page. It’s certainly not evidenced by anything seen.

Mutiny is described in Merriam Webster's Dictionary as: Forcible or passive resistance to lawful authority especially concerted revolt (as of a naval crew) against discipline or a superior officer.
And they define Treason as: 1. The betrayal of a trust. 2. The offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance.
IF...Obama is a lawful eligible President or lawful or eligible superior officer, their actions may be construed as Mutiny. IF......Obama is a lawful eligible President and IF he is "the government", which he is not, then their actions may be construed as Treason. ...
.... Of the 100 or so legal actions against Obama to prove he is eligible to hold the office of President of The United States, most are dismissed without any trial, without any hearing, without any evidence presented by either side, never being judged on the merits of the case.
Instead, Judge after Judge says, "You don't have "Standing". It is none of your business if Obama is eligible or not."
One Judge's excuse was, "This has been tweeted and twittered on the Internet". The Judge knows that the Internet is not a realm of unadulterated truth.

STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION CONSIDERS ISLAM IN TEXTBOOKS [Excerpts]
The State Board of Education [voted the week of September 19] on a resolution calling on textbook publishers to limit what they print about Islam in world history books.
The resolution cites world history books no longer used in Texas schools that it says devoted more lines of text to Islamic beliefs and practices than Christian beliefs and practices.
"Diverse reviewers have repeatedly documented gross pro-Islamic, anti-Christian distortions in social studies texts," reads a preliminary draft of the resolution, which would not be binding on future boards that will choose the state's next generation of social studies texts.

NY Times (10/12) reports, “Google and a New York financial firm have each agreed to invest heavily in a proposed $5 billion transmission backbone for future offshore wind farms along the Atlantic Seaboard that could ultimately transform the region’s electrical map. The 350-mile underwater spine, which could remove some critical obstacles to wind power development, has stirred excitement among investors, government officials and environmentalists who have been briefed on it. Industry experts called the plan promising, but warned that as a first-of-a-kind effort, it was bound to face bureaucratic delays and could run into unforeseen challenges, from technology problems to cost overruns. While several undersea electrical cables exist off the Atlantic Coast already, none has ever picked up power from generators along the way. Generating electricity from offshore wind is far more expensive than relying on coal, natural gas or even onshore wind. But energy experts anticipate a growing demand for the offshore turbines to meet state requirements for greater reliance on local renewable energy as a clean alternative to fossil fuels. Melinda Pierce, the deputy director for national campaigns at the Sierra Club, said she had campaigned against proposed transmission lines that would carry coal-fired energy around the country, but would favor this one, with its promise of tapping the potential of offshore wind.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's environmental team is playing hurry-up offense to issue controversial climate rules before his term ends in January, even if it means wading into an Election Day thicket with the oil industry. California's Air Resources Board (CARB) is on track by the end of the month to release more than 1,000 pages of proposed rules for how the state should curb greenhouse gases at power plants and other large industrial plants. Jim Brulte, a former state House and Senate GOP minority leader, told POLITICO that he’ll be on the lookout for CARB to skirt controversy with the proposed regulations to avoid angering different regions of the state, especially where locals are reliant on fossil fuels. Brulte said he expected CARB to either avoid key details, or punt all together until after Nov. 2. "They don't want the election to be swayed when people figure out who gets hosed," he said. Derek Walker, director of the Environmental Defense Fund's California Climate Initiative, dismissed the idea that politics will prompt CARB to water down its proposal, or delay its release. "My guess is that withholding until post-November 2 is not an option," Walker said in an e-mail. "CARB has shown a willingness to [successfully] tackle other tough issues amidst the political heat."

There is nothing wrong with asking prospective citizens to pledge allegiance to the ‘Jewish and democratic State of Israel.’
There has been much recent debate about what has been described as an amendment to the country’s Oath or Pledge of Allegiance for those who seek naturalization, which was passed in the cabinet on Sunday. The furor has been over the addition of the words “Jewish and democratic state”; currently the law states that one need only pledge allegiance to “the State of Israel.”
The opprobrium appears to center around the use of the word “Jewish,” with critics throwing every epithet at the amendment, from “unconstitutional” to “racist.”
These labels have sought to polarize the debate about an amendment which is completely consistent with our national character. ...

Even the proposed second Palestinian state’s “Constitution” proclaims it as both Islamic and Arab.

On March 31, 1492, the Spanish monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella issued a royal decree ordering all Jews to leave the Spain and its territories or convert to the Catholic faith. The deadline was set for August 3rd of that year. If any Jews were found in Spain after this period they were to be killed. Before midnight on August 2nd, Christopher Columbus and his crew boarded their ships. At dawn Columbus (whose voyage was financed by wealthy and influential Jews, and who himself may have been of Jewish descent) set sail on his now-famous voyage to the New World.
More than two months after setting sail in Spain, on October 12, 1492, Christopher Columbus and his fellow explorers arrived in the America. It was an adventure that changed the course of human history, and we celebrate Columbus Day each year on the second Monday of October. Next Tuesday marks the 518th anniversary of the famous landing.
The Alhambra Decree, also known as the "Edict of Expulsion," which forced the Jews to convert or flee Spain, was part of the Spanish Inquisition that began in 1480. The Inquisition sought to rid Spain of Jews, Muslims, false converts, and heretics (although it was also motivated by the desire for political power and profit). It is interesting to note that on the Jewish calendar the deadline for the Alhambra Decree was the 9th of Av, also known as Tisha B'Av. The 9th of Av has become a symbol of all the persecutions and misfortunes of the Jewish people, primarily as the day of mourning that marks the anniversary of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. ...

According to author and columnist Virginia Ironside, most adopted kids would be better off dead. As would most children she considers “unfit.” In fact, she says, a “loving” mother would smother a sickly child with a pillow, because the “suffering” of being ill makes that life meaningless and not worth living. She made these vile assertions in defense of abortion while appearing on the BBC’s Sunday Morning Live during a discussion grossly entitled “Can abortion be a kindness?” First was her odious attempt to argue that abortion is a “loving choice” because some kids, in her mind, are unwanted. Her tunnel-visioned, sad excuse for a mind can’t seem to fathom that the children are always wanted by someone. You know, like people with hearts and compassion.

Like an old car starting up on a cold winter's day, European governments have been slowly waking up to the realization that all those jolly Islamic people might be a problem after all. Unfortunately they don't understand the dimensions of the problem. To them the riots, the bombings and the murders are only part of a culture clash, with challenges no different than any other minority group. That is why they prefer to focus on schools and burqas, while ignoring the violence. The thinking is that this is still a cultural problem that can be corrected with 3 drops of educational indoctrination, and 6 drops of enforced integration for the natives whose discriminatory attitudes are just making things worse. The problem is that their model is wrong.
The Islamic problem is not merely a clash of cultures, but also a clash of civilizations. Had it been merely a clash of cultures, Europe would only be in the same boat as America. Troubled, but not immediately fatal. Instead Europe is facing a clash of civilizations. The cultural and religious dimensions of the conflict underlie a larger perception on the Muslim side, that they are fighting to expand the borders of the Muslim East, rather than trying to be accepted in the Christian West.
As Americans are blinded to the dangers of Islam by their experience with multiculturalism, Europeans are blinded to the dangers of Islam by their inexperience with multiculturalism.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak similarly believes that the gravest threat is not posed by rogue states, such as Iran, even if it acquires nuclear weapons, but rather "…a nuclear weapon reach[ing] a terrorist group, which will not hesitate to use it immediately. Unlike traditional terrorism, nuclear terrorism would pose a potentially catastrophic threat to states across the world. Even a bomb considered to be relatively small would have devastating consequences, with estimates ranging from tens to hundreds of thousands of dead. Although Israel would survive such a strike as a state, the consequences would be devastating – and this scenario is based on the optimistic assumption that terrorists would detonate only one nuclear bomb. Should nuclear terrorists strike the U.S., the consequences while not existential, would nevertheless be extreme.

U.K.'s Telegraph: "Geert Wilders' trial suspended after he attacks judge!" Wait... what?
The Telegraph is usually better than this, and does a great deal of useful reporting on stories related to the Islamization of Britain. But the choice of words to describe Wilders' demand that a biased judge be replaced is so very ironic here, considering that his own life is in danger over words and a film that insulted Islam.
He is on trial for just that. Indeed, he is the one under "attack" by the court for exercising his natural and legal rights to free speech in what happened to be politically incorrect way. This is the sort of trial one would expect to find recorded in black-and-white or sepia-toned photographs from a time long since past, spoken of in the same tones as the Scopes trial is today.

One Nation Rally Forces Thousands of Kids to Attend video
High School kids are forced to attend the one Nation rally in order to graduate. SSL (Student Service Learning) hours are required by many state governments to graduate High School, so kids must attend. Apparently, the organizers were willing to use any means to bring thousands to the rally. Kudos to my daughter for asking if they're getting SSL hours.

Lovers of Self
"For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy." (2 Timothy 3:2)
One of the dangerous teachings of the "New Age" movement which has spilled over into modern evangelicalism is the notion of "self-love." Many psychologists--even Christian professional counselors--are attributing society's ills, especially among young people, to the supposed lack of a "positive self-image" or "self-esteem" on the part of those exhibiting anti-social behavior. What they need, we are told, is to learn to love themselves more, to appreciate their own self-worth. The problem with this idea is that it is both unscriptural and unrealistic. People do not hate themselves. The Bible says that "no man ever yet hated his own flesh" (Ephesians 5:29).
Instead of learning to esteem ourselves, the Scripture commands us each to "esteem other better than themselves" (Philippians 2:3). Even the apostle Paul, near the end of his life, considered himself so unworthy that he called himself the chief of sinners (see 1 Timothy 1:15).
We are told by some Christian leaders that the measure of our great value in the sight of God is the fact that Christ paid such a high price--His own death--to redeem us. The fact is, however, that His death is not the measure of our great value, but of our terrible sinfulness. "Christ died for the ungodly" (Romans 5:6).
In fact, as in our text, the rise of this self-love idea is itself a sign of the last days, when men shall be "lovers of their own selves." It is the main characteristic of "New Age" humanism which is based squarely upon evolutionary pantheism.
Christ died for our sins because He loved us, not because He needed us. We should live for Him in thanksgiving for the "amazing grace, that saved a wretch like me!" HMM

NOTE: Our politically correct media will avoid mentioning Islam whenever possible. "Tribal" has nothing to do with it. The root of the problem is Islamic doctrine.
The article does not explain the reason for not setting a minimum age for Yemeni girls to be married. The reason is that Muhammad, at the age of 49, married a six-year old girl and had sex with her when she was nine and he was fifty-two! The Koran requires Muslims to take Muhammad as the most excellent example of behavior to follow. The Koran does not specify a minimum age for girls to marry, but it does provide divorce procedures for girls who have not yet reached puberty! If Allah permits pre-pubescent girls to be married and divorced, and if Muhammad married one, then no Islamic country can go against the example of Muhammad and the Koran.

Memo lays bare group's plans to destroy U.S. from within
"Our strategy is this," President Bush said last month. "We will fight them over there so we do not have to face them in the United States of America."
He was talking about jihadists, of course. And Mr. Bush is behind the curve. The president apparently missed the smoking-gun 1991 document his own Justice Department introduced into evidence at the Holy Land Foundation trial in Dallas. The FBI captured it in a raid on a Muslim suspect's home in Virginia.
This "explanatory memorandum," as it's titled, outlines the "strategic goal" for the North American operation of the extremist Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan). Here's the key paragraph:
The process of settlement [of Islam in the United States] is a "Civilization-Jihadist" process with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that all their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" their miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all religions. Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet. It is a Muslim's destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no escape from that destiny except for those who choose to slack.

The Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to As Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 Excellent names.
They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish it's still the truth. You had better believe it. The more who understand This, the better it will be for our country and our future.
